The Ninth Doctor

I have been watching season one of Doctor Who (the new series) for the first time quite a while and am enjoying watching Billie Piper (Rose) and Christopher Eccleston (The Doctor). When The Doctor first meets Rose, he is so filled with rage and hate, much different than The Doctor we meet in season two, David Tennant. In the first few episodes, Eccleston's version of The Doctor is also much more likely to give up which led me to initially identify Rose as more of a heroin than The Doctor. For example, in the episode Dalek, Eccleston is completely driven by his rage to destroy the last living Dalek. Rose stops him from destroying the Dalek and begins to transform him into The Doctor that I know the best (and my favorite Doctor) David Tennant. Although I enjoy the more simple and entertaining mysteries that take place throughout season one, (the story lines have become a little bit intense in season six in my opinion) it is challenging for me to find much to love about Christopher Eccleston.

This leads me to ask this question, why is it that we die hard Doctor Who fans always love our first Doctor the most? My first Doctor was David Tennant and I would do almost anything to meet him (whether it be for a spot of tea or a TARDIS ride). Stay tuned for my next blog post where I discuss this in more detail!

British vs. Americans: Who are the Bigger Doctor Who Fans?

ALONZI!!!!

Hello all my fellow Doctor Who fans (and to my friends who think I am a bit of a dork). I have been watching Doctor Who on a daily basis, which is my usual amount and I noticed a commercial come on announcing the winner for the Where's The TARDIS contest (http://www.wheresthetardis.com/). Although I never got around to submitting my Halloween costume, I enjoyed viewing a tissue box TARDIS (complete with a spray painted BAD WOLF), a TARDIS sculpted from a crayon, a TARDIS cake, a TARDIS made from Lego's, a water bottle TARDIS and so much more! I couldn't help but notice that the majority of the entries made during this BBC contest were by Americans, which led me to ask this question...where do the majority of Doctor Who fans live, in America or in England?

When I had the privilege of visiting London last summer I absolutely fell in love with the city. My short trip of just seven days was not nearly long enough and I never wanted to leave. One thing did surprise me, although I did not expect for everyone in London to be as obsessed with Doctor Who as I am, I did however expect to see several billboards, action figures, or at least a sonic screwdriver ;)!!! Just driving around Los Angeles I have noticed over ten billboards in high traffic areas not to mention I have never actually met a Brit who didn't laugh at me when I mentioned that I watch Doctor Who. I would love to hear feedback from everyone out there, tell me who you think loves The Doctor more...Americans or Brits???

My favorite Doctor Who episodes!

In case you were wondering....
My boyfriend gets all the credit for turning me on to Doctor Who. However, he had no idea when we were watching season five, episode four The Time of Angels together that I would one year later be an official Doctor Who addict. So much so that I made a Matt Smith costume for him for Halloween 2010 and a sexy TARDIS costume for myself! You all have no idea how many times I have had to explain what a TARDIS is to all my friends after posting pics on Facebook and the looks I have endured as my friends slowly realize I am a true SciFi nerd ;)!!!

So the questions I pose for all of my new followers today is this, what is your favorite episode of Doctor Who, who is your favorite doctor and why? My favorite episodes are both from season four with the fabulous Donna Nobel. I love Episode 12 and 13, The Stolen Earth and Journey's End. I love how all of David Tennant's friends and companions are reunited to save the Earth together one last time before his final episodes of being the doctor. I loved when he was finally reunited with Rose, Micky Smith is always fun to watch and "the Donna/Doctor" twist was something I did not see coming, although the Ood and others made references to it throughout the season. I do have to admit I shed a tear when Rose and the new doctor were left on the parallel Earth to live their lives together and when the doctor had to erase all memories of himself from Donna's mind. I would love to see Donna come back in the next few seasons and remember the doctor (without her mind exploding) and travel with him as his companion again (gotta love the red head companions)! Can't wait to hear about all of your favorite episodes!

Welcome from the American Amelia Pond!!!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! My name is Lindsay and I am the American Amelia Pond. I began watching Doctor Who in the beginning of season five and immediately related with Amy as she has a fantastic personality, passion for adventure and the red head connection does not hurt either! Matt Smith is my first doctor and instantly became one of my favorite SciFi loves of all time. As I quickly became obsessed with Doctor Who and had watched all of season five an unmeasurable amount of times, I began watching Doctor Who from the beginning. Although Matt Smith is my first doctor, David Tennant, the tenth doctor, is in my opinion the BEST doctor of all time (and yes, I have seen some of the old old doctors as well). I love his fast talking, passion for the human race, determination to always solve conflict without violence and the fact that he is GORGEOUS does not hurt at all! I have always been a bit obsessed with anything and everything SciFi and David Tennant is the ultimate SciFi hero, with his sense of adventure and way of saving the day with his mind rather than weapons.
